How do I see if the library has my textbook?
Answered By: Sarah Vital

The Library has a limited number of textbooks on reserve for specific courses that can be borrowed for a 2-hour loan. These course reserves are requested by your course faculty and are kept at the Service Desk on the first floor of the Library. Other texts may be available in the circulation collection.

To find out if the Library has a particular book, use the Library Search box on the homepage to search for the title. You can also search for course reserves for a particular class by using your Course Code (Example: To search for textbooks for Writing 101, search WRIT-101). If you find the book in Library Search and the location says "Available at Service Desk," write down the call number and ask for it at the Service Desk on the 1st floor. If it is "Available at SMC Library Book Stacks," you can find it yourself on the open shelves.

If the Library does not have your needed textbook, follow these other options to get your textbook through the Library.
