Library Search for Saint Mary's College theses or dissertations

The best way to find a Saint Mary's College theses or dissertations is to use the advanced search option of Library Search for "St. Mary's College of California -- Dissertations" as a subject. You can also add date limits and keywords to help target your search (i.e., "counseling").

Dissertations and Theses (Proquest) database

The Dissertations and Theses (Proquest) database contains over 2 million citations and abstracts, from 1861 to present. Titles published since 1997 are available full text in PDF format.

Please note that both theses and dissertations are included in this collection. You can limit your search to doctoral dissertations or those submitted in fulfillment of a masters level degree. See the options at the bottom of the ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Advanced Search screen.

Other Dissertations

Students sometimes find citations to dissertations not available full text through Dissertations and Theses (ProQuest) and ask how they might get these. Here are some suggestions:

  • Search Google Scholar for the thesis title. It may be available from the institution online.
  • If you know the author of the dissertation you need, you can find contact information for the author on the web and ask him/her for suggestions on how to get a copy. Some students report back that authors have emailed a copy within minutes.

Are you a master's or doctoral student with questions about uploading your own thesis?

Please contact your advisor, program coordinator, or subject librarian.
