How do I find a movie?
Answered By: Julie McPherson

You can find movies in physical form at the library or via online streaming. Here's how.

Physical Video Collection

The Byron Bryant Film Collection includes award winning and significant feature films released in movie theaters.

The Instructional Video collection includes documentaries, theatrical performances (dance, opera, theater), interviews, some television series, etc -- everything except feature movies.

Videos from both collections are located at the Service Desk on the first floor of the library.

Search for films by keyword, title, or author in the Library Search box on the Library's homepage. Use the filters on the left side of your results page to limit to SOURCE TYPE "videos" or  SHOW ONLY "physical items" or SHELVING LOCATION "ServiceDesk 1st Floor".

If you're a student or staff member the loan period for videos is one week; for faculty, the loan period is two weeks.

Videos placed on Reserve for a class cannot be taken from the Library, but there are viewing options within the building.

  • Groups of 2 or more people can reserve an available group study room. Each room is equipped with a DVD/VHS player and monitor.
  • Individuals can watch videos on one of the eight media carrels on the second floor. Each carrel is equipped with a DVD/VHS unit and flat screen monitor.
  • We have 6 Mac USB SuperDrives available to borrow from the Service Desk for four hours to connect to Mac laptops and play DVDs.
