Each citation style has specific rules regarding the citation of data and data sets. Below are examples from some of the most popular citation manuals from a web dataset, as well as one from one of the online databases.
APA (7th edition):
Author. (Year). Title of data set [Description]. Retrieved from URL

Example from a library database:

NOTE: The main difference between web and subscription database is that the URL is not needed for the subscription database; you just need to name the resource.
MLA (8th edition):
